About Us

Welcome to RockaBye Babe — Baby Gifts & Everyday Gear for Little Rock Stars

First, a little about myself:

For more than two decades, I've lived and breathed marketing, developing content and communications strategies for tech start-ups and Fortune 500 companies.

For fun, I sang lead for bands, including an SF-based 80s cover band and a Silicon Valley tech exec EDM band.

About Us | Christina Dunham | RockaBye Babe

I love performing so much that I rocked out well into my pregnancy. Here I am on stage at the Little Kid's Rock Family Day event at Facebook in 2015. I was 7 months along.

I also like to go camping in the dessert, in a very special place called Black Rock City, where everyone is encouraged to express themselves. My husband and I have been going since 2009.

A passion for fun fashion

Singing in bands and going to Burning Man enabled me to indulge my creative side, and provided a great outlet for another love: designing and creating fun, funky clothing. I grew up designing and sewing clothes for my barbie dolls, snatching up fabric remnants from my mom and grandma. As I got better at pattern-making, I eventually learned to create one-of-a-kind pieces for myself.

But alas, a career as a fashion designer was not in the stars. After college and grad school, I worked for a series of companies in various industries — advertising, telecom, events/entertainment, fitness, healthcare, and health tech.

When I had my son in 2015, I decided I wanted out of the rat race so I could spend more time with him. I mean, who wouldn't want to spend more time with this little cutie:

That's Lawson Gray Dunham at ten days old. He is the inspiration for all of this.

The birth of RockaBye Babe:

RockaBye Babe was born out of my desire to find affordable fun, funky baby clothing and gear for our little one. While pastels and bunnies are cute, I wanted my son to wear something less shake & rattle and more rock & roll.

Babies grow out of their clothes so quickly that it didn't make sense to spend a whole lot of cash for each individual item. In addition, there was a limited selection of black onesies online and in stores (great for hiding oopsies), and baby bibs—while fully functional—were a little too boring for my taste.

Turns out, other moms had the same desire.
